On the first day of the tournament, the sun shone brightly and a gentle breeze provided an ideal competitive environment for the players. Among the many participants, Ms. Zhang Huizhen stood out with her consistent performance, particularly impressive on the greens with her precise and composed play. In contrast, other female players seemed to struggle to find their rhythm, with their putting and short game falling short of expectations. On the men's side, Wang Baoge, known for his helpful attitude towards golf, won both the overall score and total points championships, becoming the biggest winner of the first day, thanks to his near-perfect drive, excellent short game, and a few strokes of luck.
However, the greens on the course became a nightmare for many players. The complex terrain, hidden lines, and unpredictable visual discrepancies tested the judgment and skill of every participant. Many players made mistakes when facing turtleback greens, and frequent multiple putts made scoring extremely difficult. The competition intensified on the second day. The 15 finalists were ready to face even tougher challenges. Compared to the mild weather on the first day, the weather on the second day seemed intent on testing the players' willpower and adaptability, especially the strong winds and heavy rain at the start, which undoubtedly increased the unpredictability and drama of the match.
Tang Zhiping's outstanding performance was particularly noteworthy, achieving an impressive record of one birdie and nine pars! Despite missing out on the overall championship, he ultimately won the overall championship by a single point, thanks to his first place in both gross and total score on the second day of competition!
The most thrilling contest took place between Zhou Li and Wang Guolin in the final group. The two players remained neck and neck throughout, displaying remarkable resilience and superior skill, especially under adverse weather conditions. Although Wang Guolin briefly took the lead on the 15th hole, a mistake on a crucial subsequent hole cost him the advantage. Zhou Li withstood immense pressure, making a series of crucial plays to secure a one-stroke victory and become the tournament's overall champion!
