On February 7, 2024, the South Australia Chapter of the Kunlun Golf Association of Australia held its annual celebration and awards dinner at the Donghai Seafood Restaurant. This grand event, which brought together over 70 Kunlun golfers and their families, concluded the past year's efforts with laughter and heartfelt thanks, and also heralded the start of a new year's journey.
The banquet commenced at 6:30 PM. The Penfolds wines, generously sponsored by Wei's Trading, added a delightful aroma to the meal, perfectly complementing the sumptuous Chinese cuisine. The tender and juicy lobsters, generous portions of dishes, and attentive service ensured a pleasant experience for all guests. Amidst the clinking of glasses, guests chatted about golf and shared their lives. Representatives from sister clubs SAGGA and AAGG also attended to offer their congratulations, adding a warm touch to the evening.
Mr. Rick Li, Director of the Kunlun Golf Association, and Ms. Xu Lin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Fujian Chamber of Commerce, co-hosted the ceremony, officially launching it with enthusiastic opening remarks. Mr. Jeff Wang, the 2024 Rotating President, took the stage first to review the three major milestones of 2024:The successful hosting of four quarter-final matches and two finals throughout the yearThe ability to organize events has steadily improved;The three training courses trained more than ten new students.This injects fresh blood into the sport of golf;The successful establishment of the New South Wales chapterThis marks a strategic breakthrough for the federation's cross-state expansion. In his speech, Jeff expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, players' families, and council members, emphasizing that "it is thanks to the support from all sides that Kunlun has been able to expand from South Australia to the whole country."
Mr. Ge Jian, representative of the title sponsor, then took the stage and humbly stated, "Sponsoring Kunlun is an opportunity for us to give back to society," drawing applause from the audience. In the ensuing sponsorship certificate presentation, the host read out the list of sponsors one by one, and company representatives received their certificates, highlighting the deep collaboration between the business and sports sectors.
Player representative Mr. Lincoln Chen then took the stage to speak, sharing his experiences with Kunlun over the past year, and stating that his TG Indoor Golf Club has officially become the Federation's designated training base, and will provide players with all-weather training support in the future.
Following this, Mr. Zhan Yu, the first rotating president of Kunlun Golf, and now honorary president and chairman of the national committee, took the stage to announce...The National Committee of the Australian Coron Golf Federation was established.Kunlun Golf Association, formerly known as Guojiao 1573 Golf Club established in South Australia on July 2, 2021, underwent two name changes before being officially named the Kunlun Golf Association of Australia in May 2023. With the establishment of Victoria and New South Wales branches in October 2023 and June 2024 respectively, Kunlun took its first step towards nationwide expansion. In October 2024, Kunlun established a national committee to coordinate national operations, strengthen connections and cooperation among branches, and provide better services to Kunlun golfers across the country. For example, the association will offer interstate booking services, allowing members to coordinate course reservations in Victoria and New South Wales through their branch secretariats. The inauguration ceremony of the national committee of the Kunlun Golf Association of Australia will be held on February 19th after the annual national finals. Stay tuned for more details!
Kunlun also has a routine event – the handover ceremony for the president. Current rotating president Mr. Jeff Wang and National Committee Chairman Mr. Zhan Yu solemnly handed over the "President's Crystal Cup," symbolizing responsibility, to the newly appointed rotating president, Mr. Rick Li. Rick stated that in the new year, Kunlun will uphold its traditions, embrace innovation, and work together with its Victorian and New South Wales branches to co-organize events, allowing Kunlun members to make friends and foster camaraderie through sports on the national stage.
