On July 27th, Kunlun welcomed such a group of guests – from Melbourne.Taishan Golf TeamEight golfers visited Adelaide for a four-day golf exchange tournament with the Adelaide Kunlun team! This marks Kunlun's first attempt at an interstate golf exchange and is an important step for Kunlun towards a nationwide presence in Australia!
This tournament, which took about a month to prepare, is an important attempt to promote golf exchange and learning among the Chinese community in Australia since Kunlun was renamed the "Kunlun Golf Association of Australia." The Kunlun Council attaches great importance to this tournament, and based on the Kunlun season results and player handicaps, ultimately selected eight elite players to form the "..."“Adelaide Kunlun Team”"We accept the challenge from our Melbourne friends! We also want to thank the Melbourne Taishan team players for their cooperation, which made this interstate tournament possible!"
This competition has set up a total ofTotal Score Award, Group A Total Score Award, Group B Total Score Award, and Team AwardWe strive to make the competition more diverse and exciting! The competition will be held over three days, starting on July 27th.Grange Golf Club East Course、July 28, Grange Golf Club West Courseand July 29McCraken Golf ClubThe tournament included matches, as well as a friendly match at Royal Adelaide Stadium on July 30th (which did not count towards the score). Three consecutive days of matches presented a significant challenge to the skills and stamina of each player, but also highlighted the high quality of the competition!
On the morning of July 27th, the Melbourne Taishan team players landed in Adelaide. Representatives from the Kunlun Council greeted them at the airport. After a brief welcoming ceremony, both sides drove to Grange Golf Club, where the interstate battle was about to begin! Despite their long journey and unfamiliarity with the course, the visiting Taishan team gave the Kunlun players a rude awakening—Yaoyong Liang和Jianxun LiuScores of 90 and 88 respectively, totaling 32 and 33 points, put them in a favorable position in Group A, putting unprecedented pressure on the Kunlun team. On the Kunlun side...Jeff WangAlso scoring 33 points, Kunlun won the annual championship.Daniel LoA score of 85 keeps the competition for total points and gross score in Group A in suspense! In Group B, Kunlun continued their winning streak, with their female players displaying impressive skills.Fiona Chan和James ZhanThey all scored a whopping 37 points, laying a solid foundation for their championship aspirations!
After the competition, the Adelaide Kunlun team held a formal welcome ceremony for the Melbourne Taishan team. During the reception, players from both sides enjoyed drinks and conversation, exchanging team uniforms and gifts. Golf became a bond of friendship, closely connecting the Chinese golfers of the two cities!
On the second day of the match, after a full rest, the Melbourne Taishan team players began to show their true strength and were in excellent form.Yaoyong LiangHe was on fire, scoring a game-high 38 points, which was also the highest score in this series!Jianxun Liu和Fang ZhouThey also scored a high score of 36 points. The Taishan team practically secured the overall championship in Group A in just two days! The Kunlun team remains...Jeff Wang和Daniel LoThey performed consistently, scoring 34 and 33 points respectively, keeping a close lead. However...Daniel LoHis 81 strokes made him the favorite in the overall score competition after two days of competition. In Group B, Kunlun's performance fluctuated on the second day, only managing to score 34 points on the first day.Hongyong NaThey scored a high score of 36 points again; on the Taishan team, two players scored 33 points, quickly narrowing the score gap.
In the evening, arranged by Kunlun, the players from both sides went to Hindmarsh Stadium to watch the crucial Women's World Cup match between China and Haiti! Being able to cheer for the Chinese team in person was already a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but witnessing the women's football team defeat their opponents with fewer players and in a do-or-die battle was even more exhilarating!
On the final day of the decisive battle, both sides brought out their best skills, and with one exciting moment after another, the series finally came to an end.Group Aaspect,Yaoyong LiangContinuing their unstoppable momentum, they scored another 37 points, bringing their final total to 107 points.A dominant victory; outstanding performance in the first two daysJianxun LiuHe performed poorly in the final game, scoring only 23 points and unfortunately exiting the championship race, but still achieved a total score of 92 points; the same score was achieved by someone who performed exceptionally well on the final day.Jianjun ZhouThe two ultimately scored points.runner up和Third placeWith this result, Melbourne Taishan team has swept the top three positions in Group A!
Group BIn this respect, Kunlun stands out.Fiona ChanThey once again displayed their strength and determination, scoring a high score of 34 points and winning the third place in Group B with a total score of 99 points.James ZhanWith an outstanding performance, scoring 36 points in this game, he secured second place with a total score of 100; the championship went to the player who consistently performed well in all three games.Hongyong Na—Averaging nearly 35 points per game, Na Zong finally won the championship trophy! Kunlun took the top three spots in Group B!
The main eventTotal Score CompetitionThe suspense surrounding the championship didn't last long. After two consecutive days of excellent scores of 81, the Kunlun team...Daniel LoWith a score of 247, nearly 30 strokes ahead of second place, he won the championship with an absolute advantage! The only player with a single-digit handicap gave no chance to anyone, advancing all the way to claim the overall championship in Kunlun's arms!
An award specially added for the theme of this competition—Team Total Score AwardThe competition was exceptionally fierce. It must be said that, faced with the honor of the team, every player gave their all, striving to build a ladder to victory for their team! Ultimately,Adelaide KunlunWith a narrow margin of 560 to 555, they defeated Melbourne Taishan and defended their home turf!
On July 30th, the players from both teams teed off at Royal Adelaide Golf Club, concluding the tournament. Although the results were no longer relevant, it was the perfect way for the two teams to say goodbye, leaving them wanting more. The players' swings symbolized genuine friendship, and the flying white balls bridged the gap between them! That afternoon, the Melbourne golfers boarded a plane and departed Adelaide, successfully concluding their trip. The Taishan team friends were very satisfied with the organization and arrangements of this event and expressed their sincere gratitude to the council and the Kunlun team for their kindness and dedication.
This tournament marks the debut of the Kunlun Team and also the Kunlun Golf Association's first foray into the Australian golf scene! It's a significant undertaking, and we are proud of the Kunlun Team, while also thanking all the players for their hard work and support! Through this interstate exchange, we hope to connect Chinese golfers across Australia, fostering mutual learning and exchange, and allowing the flower of friendship to bloom on every golf course in Australia!Kunlun is willing to make unremitting efforts to become such a platform and make a small contribution to the development of golf among Chinese Australians and the exchange among Chinese Australians!
